Many mothers have a special connection to their sons. While my mother and I had a tumultuous relationship until she was much older, in the end it became clear that I was special to her and always had been. Perhaps that helps explain the fact that as an author in the first part of the book, Koronus: Apprentice, it is Koronus’ mother who seems to be his only ally. She sees the good in him that he doesn’t see himself and it is her behind-the-scenes support that keeps Koronus from descending into despair and perhaps even suicide. Mothers are really Nature’s masterpieces. Thanks to all those moms who support and cherish their children.
