On a 2-week road trip vacation (some claim I’m always on vacation) we drove our Saturn Sky to Florida and back. During the over 3000 miles of driving on everything from interstate highways to country roads there were two things I noted. There sure are a lot of cars on the roads. And, everyone is in a hurry. It didn’t matter how fast I went, it seemed almost everyone wanted to go faster. Forget the speed limits, ten miles over, twenty. Where is everyone going and why do they have to fly along as if they are on a life-or-death emergency? It makes me wonder if anyone ever slows down and just enjoys the day. Maybe it’s symptomatic or our society and why we are one of the least happy cultures on this planet. Well, at least I slowed down and enjoyed my vacation, driving top down as much as possible. Now back to work.
